Will you marry me? Eloping in Bora Bora

Will you marry me? Eloping during during your stay in Bora Bora!

Congratulations to Victor and Claire! She said YES

Your photographer can be your best friend! We are intimate with Bora Bora and its resorts and there is not a better place to propose!  In fact, this month might have been proposal month as we covered / photographed 5 couples from the US tying the knot for this very special moment!

Finding the right time and scene to propose can be “challenging” (speaking as a guy), you wish to have the perfect time and location and for her to feel the romance!  I have been through it, coming up with many scenarios and decided to keep it simple and real!  Today we are always so excited to be of some help!

Best is to somewhat plan ahead if you wish to capture this magical moment, we are always happy to have a discussion to hear your thoughts and ideas.  Us, Being intimate with the locations in Bora Bora will allow us to make suggestions so we can best capture the moment.  We have covered many proposals, sometime posing as “tourists” while at one of the resorts and using long lenses so the bride to be would not notice a thing and sometime it was planned during a photoshoot.

Shooting in “paparazzi” mode is fun, more challenging for us as we have to stay behind the scene,  “invisible” but yet have to be able to capture the right moment and expressions!  This will require some coordination to insure success but we love the idea.

Proposing during a photo-shoot – Easier, it works well but she might be suspicious of the reason behind the photo-shoot! We typically meet you at an arranged location, often you resort’s room.  You have introduced us as photographer for the planned photo-shoot – A photo-shoot usually will give the motive to both of you to be somewhat dressed-up!  From there, we will be able to “control” the situation, giving you a signal, distracting the future bride to be and for us to be in the best spot / angle to capture the priceless expressions on her!

Victor had contacted us in the morning and expressed how he desired to propose to his girlfriend in the afternoon while they were staying at the Royal Bora Bora.  We were able to meet for a short time with Victor and give him some suggestions how and where it was best for him to do it!

Shooting from a 40-50 yard distance, one of the first shot of victor making the big move!  We were ready, two cameras; Bonnie using with a 70-200 & myself with one a 100-300mm – We did not want to miss the shot! This one was captured with the 100-300mm while using support behind a coconut tree

From Victor & Claire

Hi Stephan, thank you so much again for capturing our engagement, we are beyond happy with the photos and will love these for the rest of our lives.

Of course, you have our permission to use our photos for any posts or blogs you make.  It was especially helpful to get your help with the timing and positioning of where to be to get the perfect photos.

A love story to be continued! We certainly hope to cross path with the both of them again some day! Perhaps a family shoot in Bora Bora?
